Hygienic design

With more environmentally friendly productions and products, stricter hygiene regulations and an increased amount of product swaps performed in the equipment – a refined hygiene design is a necessity.

Minimizing both the ecological footprints and the conversion time requires a process system that is easy to clean quickly and effectively. The shorter the conversion time, the faster you can get on with the next batch.

Correct demands on the equipment and the contractors have a positive effect on the equipment’s life span. An optimal hygienic design, in turn, results in a safer and easier production with less products discharged.

A well thought out hygienic design minimizes both the prevalence of bacterial growth and contamination.

A functioning hygienic design is also a prerequisite for the much-requested production traceability. Every raw material must be able to identify and trace – in which products have they been used in and where have those products been sent – so that contaminated or miscolored products that contain allergens that aren´t supposed to be there can be withdrawn quickly. A well-executed hygienic design minimizes the risk of contamination ensuring that the process system is cleaned every single time.

Great experience in regulations

The GMP regulations (Good Manufacturing Practice) control the production and packing of pharmaceuticals, food and health foods. Importing products to the States requires complying with the FDA regulations, which are similar to those of the EU. When you´re complying with the FDA regulations and choose components that also comply with them, you are automatically complying with the EU legislations.

Processus has a vast amount of experience in the high demands and regulations of the pharmaceutical and food industries, such as GMP, GxP, GAMP 5 as well as the industry standards. Compliance permeates our work with process and automation design – from the beginning, throughout all project phases, to the testing and the verifying, and all the way to the quality ensured delivery of the plants.

Manufacturers are increasing their hygiene demands

Given that everything we put on our skin is also absorbed by our skin, even fine chemicals such as cosmetics and skincare are covered by hygiene regulations. Changing a products composition in order to comply with new legislation isn´t always easy.

One example that illustrates this, is when the consumers back in the day demanded more environmentally friendly paint. The producers consequently decreased the number of solvents in the color. They did this, however, without implementing stricter hygiene regulations or hygiene design/components, which caused the paint to mold.

Processus helps customers to design a more hygienic production process. We deliver assessments – and we design and carry out projects.
